KAYA
DAY 2026
A public cultural day to celebrate KAYA, his music, his message and the living force of seggae — through an expo, archives, listening moments and transmission.
Rasinn pé brilé.
KAYA DAY is not only a tribute. It is a yearly rendez-vous to keep KAYA's work alive, visible and accessible for the next generation.
Expo
Photos, posters, cassettes, vinyls, lyrics, press and archive objects.
Music
Listening stations, DJ selections, seggae, live tribute energy.
Memory
Stories, testimonies and public contribution to the KAYA Archives.
Transmission
Panels, education, guided visits and content for younger audiences.
Ecosystem
BABANI, the storë, mōris and hüb supporting the archive mission.
The
Expo
The 2026 edition places KAYA DAY inside Caudan Arts Centre as a public exhibition and cultural gathering. The space should feel alive: part archive, part music room, part memory wall, part roots celebration.
The visual language is inspired by KAYA and Racinetatane: raw hand-made colours, album-cover energy, sega/seggae symbols, roots, fire, peace, instruments and public memory.
visual inspiration: Henri Kums · original artwork & design direction
A yearly
cultural day
KAYA DAY is built around 10 August, the birth date of Joseph Réginald Topize. It is a yearly moment to celebrate KAYA's legacy, to make seggae heard, and to support the archival work around his catalogue, image and message.
The aim is to make the day recurring: every year, a stronger archive, a stronger public memory, and a stronger bridge between KAYA's generation and the new generation.

Public access
A place where families, fans, students, artists and institutions can meet.
Archive dignity
A serious frame for KAYA's image, catalogue and historical memory.
