Ersatz Of Bob Marley is the first in a series of Marley interpretation albums by KAYA, followed by Chante Marley (1996) and J.R. Topize Sing Marley (1999). The title "Ersatz" — meaning a substitute or imitation — is characteristically self-aware, acknowledging the interpretive nature of the project while delivering seggae readings of enduring power.

The Racine Rebels band was the primary backing ensemble for KAYA's Meli Melo period recordings. Full personnel documentation is in progress.

Ersatz Of Bob Marley est le premier d'une série d'albums d'interprétation de Marley par KAYA, suivi de Chante Marley (1996) et J.R. Topize Sing Marley (1999).
